SO WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? TO FIND OUT COME TO THE FAMILY HISTORY GROUP WHERE YOU WILL MEET LIKE-MINDED INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL HELP AND SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

If you are a seasoned genealogist you will have a pretty good idea. If you are a beginner then you have a treat in store providing you have some good guidance and a persistent and enquiring mind.

The family history group was set up to help members with their family history and it provides a friendly and informative resource for its members to use. This informal group discusses either individual problems or picks on a specific subject of family history that can useful in your own research. Come along with your problem and let the group help you with it. You will get some good advice and it may resolve your difficulty.

The group also looks at ways of preserving your data and the different methods of narrating your family history. After all why do all the work researching your subject and then leave it in a few box files? This is a waste and will form no inheritance for anyone.

Family history never runs smoothly – it is littered with traps, diversions, and dead-ends. It’s a subject no-one can do completely by themselves and working in a group provides a valuable impetus to solving its many problems.

The group meets at Bermuda Phoenix , Bermuda Road, Nuneaton on the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00 12:00 with the occasional visit to local archives.

We positively welcome new members. Any new potential members of the group can come and sit and listen (and join in) whilst having a cup of coffee (or tea). This is especially useful if you are not sure you want to start this addictive subject of your own personal history.
