Reading

A GROUP FORMED TO EXTEND THE RANGE OF EVERYONE’S LITERATURE TASTES BY GROUP RECOMMENDATION AND THEN TO DISCUSS THE BOOK IN A SMALL FRIENDLY GROUP.

Who does not love a good book?

But do you do your reading alone and are thus constrained by your own appreciation? Do you always stick to the same type of book not really want to extend your experience? Do you wish to talk about a book that you have enjoyed or hated?

Yes? – Then you should join the BNB u3a Reading group.

Book clubs (or Reading groups) are popular as many people want to extend their literary experience and range and a book club performs this requirement in a social and pleasing way. In our group, people meet to discuss a book or books that they have just read and to express their opinions, likes, and dislikes, etc. There is no need to worry if you have not finished a set book, come anyway and express your opinion on what you have read. Not everyone can finish every book and it has been found that everyone has valuable insights.

The group meets once a month so that everyone, no matter how busy, gets a chance to finish the set book.

As well as reading the set books the group discusses books that each member has read and recommends, which enables everyone to broaden their range of genres and authors.

There is no need to join straight away – come and sit in on a meeting and listen to the group – and join in if you so wish.
